e-Madness v1.0 Launched!

e-Madness was officially launched this month,  after over ten years of research and development by the folks at Epiphany Solutions.

Until now, informal tournament "pools" have been restricted to the well-known bracket format that floats around the office, school or the local bar.  These formats only allowed the winner of the entire tournament to hold the bragging rights, and in many cases, the winnings of the informal wagers.

Based on an auction-style tournament format, e-Madness allows friends to plan, create and run private, peer-to-peer web-based auctions for any sports tournament.  Using e-Madness, all the teams (or players) of the tournament are auctioned to the highest bidder during the time the auction is hosted on-line.  All the bids create the total payout pot, and the highest bidder of each team "owns" that team for the entire tournament.  For each round that a team advances, a percentage payout of the total pot is paid to the "owner" of the team.  Because of this, there is a "market value" for every team in the tournament, and a unique "return on investment" for the e-Madness auction participants.
